As a traditionally trained professional artist I use my skills and experience to create an original artwork that truly reflects the character and personality of the subject.
A portrait of a loved one will hold more than memory, it has presence.
I seek to capture the character; the life within not only an external likeness
The opportunity to paint someone’s portrait is a great privilege.
I personally follow up an initial enquiry to understand the portrait subject, preferred size, medium, desired style and timeframe.
Providing a quotation with an explanation of what is included follows an initial discussion.
If you wish to go ahead a deposit is agreed and arrangements made to start the process.
Where it is possible a live sitting with the subject adds another dimension to the experience. If this is not possible an online sitting is an option and or reference photographs are also sufficient.
The finished work will be in your choice of media which can be acrylic, oil paint or pastel.
I believe that the process of being portrayed through an artist’s eyes is a rewarding experience of value, affirming identity and self-worth.
